Job Purpose: The Nail Technician / Nail Artist will be responsible for delivering high-quality, professional nail services, with advanced nail technology and nail art as the primary area of expertise. The successful candidate will provide exceptional nail treatments, create detailed nail art designs, maintain high hygiene standards, and ensure an excellent client experience.
The candidate should also have basic to intermediate skills in either haircare/styling or body massage/facials to support the salon's wider beauty service offering.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advanced Nail Services – Primary Responsibility

• 
  
• Perform professional nail services including advanced manicures and nail extensions.
  
• Demonstrate strong technical proficiency in acrylic, gel and Polygel extensions.
  
• Perform Russian Manicure using e-file techniques safely and professionally.
  
• Create high-quality Babyboomer, French and intricate/complex nail art designs.
  
• Deliver customized nail designs based on client preferences and current trends.
  
• Maintain consistency, precision and attention to detail in all nail services.
  
• Conduct nail preparation, application, shaping, finishing and aftercare professionally.
  
• Recommend appropriate nail services and products based on individual client needs.
  
• Participate in a practical technical test as part of the recruitment process.
  

2. Nail Art Portfolio & Quality

• 
  
• Maintain a portfolio of original nail work demonstrating advanced extensions and nail art.
  
• Provide clear photos and/or videos of previous nail work for assessment.
  
• Keep up to date with emerging nail trends, techniques, products and designs.
  
• Ensure all work meets high standards of quality, creativity and professionalism.
  

3. Secondary Beauty Skills

• 
  
• Support the salon with basic to intermediate haircare and styling OR body massage/facial services.
  
• Assist colleagues during busy periods and contribute to the delivery of other beauty services where required.
  
• Be willing to undergo additional training in other salon services as necessary.
  

4. Client Consultation & Customer Care

• 
  
• Conduct professional consultations to understand clients' preferences and requirements.
  
• Advise clients on suitable nail treatments, designs and aftercare.
  
• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  
• Provide a welcoming, professional and personalized client experience.
  
• Handle client inquiries professionally and maintain confidentiality.
  

5. Hygiene & Safety

• 
  
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation of tools, equipment and workstations.
  
• Follow appropriate hygiene and safety procedures during all treatments.
  
• Properly clean, disinfect and store nail tools and equipment.
  
• Maintain a clean, organized and professional working environment.
  

6. Teamwork & Professional Development

• Work collaboratively with other salon team members to ensure smooth operations.
  
• Participate in training and continuous professional development.
  
• Remain open to learning new techniques, products and beauty services.
  
• Contribute to maintaining a professional and welcoming salon environment.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• 
  
• Certification in Nail Technology, Nail Art, Beauty Therapy, Cosmetology or a related field.
  
• Proven experience working as a professional Nail Technician / Nail Artist, with advanced nail services as the primary area of expertise.
  
• Demonstrable hands-on experience in:

  • Acrylic extensions
    
  • Gel/Polygel extensions
    
  • Russian Manicure/e-file techniques
    
  • Babyboomer
    
  • French designs
    
  • Complex and creative nail art
    
  
  
• A portfolio of original nail work is mandatory, particularly extensions and advanced nail art.
  
• Basic to intermediate experience in haircare/styling OR body massage/facials is an added requirement.
  
• Strong understanding of nail hygiene, sanitation and safety practices.
  
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  
• Professional appearance, attitude and attention to detail.
  

Please note: Candidates whose primary specialization is hairdressing or massage/facials, with only basic or occasional nail experience, will not be considered.
