Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KNRA) is a public entity established under Section 5 of the Nuclear Regulatory Act No. 29 of , which commenced on 10th January , to provide protection of persons, property and the environment against the harmful effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation through the establishment of a system of regulatory control.

For appointment to this grade an officer must have: –
Bachelor’s Degree in the any of the following disciplines: – Physics, Chemistry, Forensic Science, Instrumentation and Control, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Science with a bias in Atomic or Radiation Science or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Demonstrable computer literacy, and Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.Duties and Responsibilities
Compiling and uploading data into the national dose register for occupationally exposed personnel; Creating and maintaining a log of radiation detection equipment and instrumentation; Keeping records of radiation sources, dose exposures, and unusual occurrences; Receiving and documenting samples for forensic analysis; Sampling, analyzing, and maintaining inventory of radioactivity of all radioactive or potentially radioactive source terms onsite and offsite of a facility; Conducting personal dosimetry; and Installing, operating and adjusting radiation detection equipment and instrumentation.Important Safety Tips
