Instaprint SARL is a well-established offset and digital printing company based in Kinshasa, DR Congo. We produce a wide range of commercial print products including books, diaries, notebooks, stationery, packaging and marketing materials.
We are looking for a hands-on Post Press Machine Operator cum Supervisor with strong experience in post-press / finishing and team supervision to join us on a long-term expatriate contract.
Key Technical Skills
The ideal candidate will have practical, hands-on experience operating and supervising:
- Perfect binding machines
- Folding machines
- Die-cutting machines
- Guillotine / cutting machines
- Other finishing machines (pinning, saddle stitching, creasing, perforating, etc.)
Experience in offset printing environments and a solid understanding of the full production workflow (pre-press, press, post-press) is essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate post press machinery independently
- Supervise and manage post press staff
- Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved
- Train and guide operators and helpers
- Maintain cleanliness, discipline, and efficiency in the department
- Troubleshoot basic machine and production issues
- Ensure jobs are completed correctly and on time
- Floor supervision & coordination
- Oversee the daily operations of the production floor.
- Allocate work to operators and helpers, and ensure jobs are completed on time.
- Monitor job progress and resolve bottlenecks quickly.

- Machine operation & support
- Personally operate finishing machines when required (binding, folding, die-cutting, cutting, etc.).
- Assist operators in setting up jobs, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure machines are run at optimal speed and quality.

- Ensure all jobs meet quality standards and client specifications.
- Minimise wastage of paper, ink and materials.

- Supervise a team of approximately 50 staff (operators, helpers, assistants).
- Train and develop local staff in machine operation, safety and quality.
- Maintain discipline, teamwork and a positive work atmosphere.

- Coordinate with planning / costing teams to execute production schedules.
- Monitor material usage and coordinate with stores for paper, plates, consumables, etc.
- Coordinate basic preventive maintenance and report breakdowns to management / technicians.
- Support implementation of systems and process improvements.

Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in a commercial offset printing press (factory / production environment).
- Strong knowledge of finishing department machines:
- Folding, cutting/guillotine, perfect binding, pinning/stitching, die-cutting, etc.

- Proven ability to:
- Execute print production jobs as per schedule in coordination with planning / costing.
- Lead and supervise a production team on the shop floor.
- Work independently and take responsibility for the entire production area when required.
