PREQUALIFICATION NOTICE: SALE OF SCRAP METALS

Menengai Oil Refineries & RAI MDF is seeking prequalification from eligible and interested bidders for the sale of scrap items listed below to the highest bidder. We are committed to ensuring that our scrap materials are responsibly and sustainably managed in accordance with national laws and regulations. Q- Sourcing Limited has been contracted to undertake the prequalification process on behalf of Menengai Oil Refineries & RAI MDF.

Scope of Sale:

The scrap items available for sale include but are not limited to:

Scrap Metal General Scrap

Qualification Criteria:

Bidders must meet the following qualification criteria as per the national law for each category of interest:

Possession of a valid Scrap Metal Dealers Association Membership Number and Certificate Licence issued by Scrap Metal Council of Kenya Business Registration certificate Business permit Plot Title or Lease Agreement Tax Compliance Certificate Director’s Details i.e. KRA PIN and Certificate of Good Conduct Residential Physical address of the proprietor or partners. The Address to includes Name of road, house number, town, county.

Additionally, buyers must demonstrate their ability to comply with the new regulations outlined in the Sustainable Waste Management Act. This includes providing tracking and destruction documents as appropriate to ensure responsible disposal and recycling of scrap items.

Bidders are also encouraged to be members of a Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) scheme to further demonstrate their commitment to sustainable waste management practices.

Timeline for Prequalification:

The timeline for this project will be one month. From the 12th April to 11th May, 2024.

Submission of Prequalification Documents:

Interested bidders are required to submit the following documents for prequalification:

Possession of a valid Scrap Metal Dealers Association Membership Number and Certificate Licence issued by Scrap Metal Council of Kenya Business Registration certificate Business permit Plot Title or Lease Agreement Tax Compliance Certificate Director’s Details i.e. KRA PIN and Certificate of Good Conduct Residential Physical address of the proprietor or partners. The Address to includes Name of road, house number, town, county. Any additional relevant documents supporting the bidder’s qualifications and capabilities.

Prequalification does not guarantee the award of any contract. Only prequalified bidders will be invited to participate in subsequent bidding processes for the sale of scrap materials. The Consultant reserves the right to accept or reject any or all submissions without providing any reasons thereof.
