Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority (KNRA) is a public entity established under Section 5 of the Nuclear Regulatory Act No. 29 of , which commenced on 10th January , to provide protection of persons, property and the environment against the harmful effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation through the establishment of a system of regulatory control.

For appointment to this Grade, an officer must have:

A minimum period of eight years relevant work experience, three years of which must have been in a supervisory role; Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Information Technology, Computer Science, Business IT, Software Engineering, ICT Project Management, Computer Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent from a recognized Institution; Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Information Technology, Computer Science, Business IT, Software Engineering, ICT Project Management, Computer Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution; A minimum of any two certifications from relevant professional bodies in either CCNP, CDCP, CCNA Cloud, CCNA Industrial/IoT, CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, MCSD, N+, A+ OCA, CISSP, Linux+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), CISA, CISM, CGEIT or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution; CISA Membership or an equivalent ICT professional body; Certificate in Management course lasting not less than four weeks from a recognized institution; and Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Duties and responsibilities

Installing and maintaining computer systems; Analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing computer programs; Configuring Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN); Providing user support; Configuring Local Area Network and Wide Area Network; Developing and updating application systems; Carrying out systems analysis, design and programs specifications in liaison with users; Drawing up hardware specifications for Information Communication Technology equipment; User and Systems Support and Logging of incidents; Verifying, validating and certifying Information Communication Technology equipment; Ensuring effective working of systems for efficient service delivery; Configuring new Information Communication Technology equipment; and Implementing systems and network security.
