Job Description/Requirements
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Assistant with experience in further processed meat products to join our team. The successful candidate will support various stages of our meat processing operations, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in the production of further processed meat products such as sausages, patties, and deli meats.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing Support:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of meat products according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain processing equipment such as grinders, mixers, stuffers, and slicers.
- Ensure all products are processed in compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
Quality Control:
- Perform regular quality checks on products to ensure consistency and adherence to specifications.
- Identify and report any deviations or issues in the production process.
Packaging and Labeling:
- Assist in the packaging and labeling of finished products.
- Ensure that all products are accurately labeled with the correct information and within regulatory guidelines.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
- Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Sanitation and Cleanliness:
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
- Participate in daily and weekly cleaning schedules to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding any production issues or improvements.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a meat processing environment, specifically with further processed products.
- Familiarity with meat processing equipment and machinery.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move heavy objects
- Comfortable working in a cold environment.
Education:
- Degree or Diploma in Food science
- Additional certifications in food safety or meat processing are a plus.
