Job Title: Production Manager - Horticulture Industry
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee our Ornamental Production. The ideal candidate will have a degree in an agricultural-related field and at least 5 years of experience in the horticulture industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
● Manage the production process from planting to harvest, ensuring efficient and timely operations.
● Develop and implement production plans and budgets that optimize productivity and minimize waste.
● Monitor and manage crop growth, including pest and disease control, irrigation, fertilization, and harvesting.
● Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
● Train,and manage production staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
● Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
● Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop sales strategies and ensure product quality and consistency.
● Monitor industry trends and stay up-to-date with the latest horticultural practices and technologies.
● Maintain relationships with customers and other stakeholders in the horticulture industry.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
● 5 years or more of experience in horticulture production management.
● Expeience in production of Pelargonium, Bedding plants and perennials a must
● Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and horticultural software programs.
● Knowledge of agricultural best practices, including crop management, irrigation, fertilization, and pest control.
● Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
● Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● A passion for horticulture and a commitment to sustainability.
