Job Description

The Nyayo Tea Zones Development Corporation was established through a Legal Gazette Notice No. of as a State Corporation with the aim of promoting forest conservation by providing buffer zones of tea and assorted tree species to check against human encroachment into the forestland.

Job Specification

An officer at this level will be deployed in any of the following functional areas: Carpentry, Masonry, Plumbing, Welding, Joinery, Mechanical, and Electrical and will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail Assisting in: – Maintaining and servicing of the water supply line; Carrying out repairs and maintenance in areas of specialization; Pumping of water to the storage tanks; Treating of drinking water; Cleaning of water tanks; Installing, repairing and maintaining utility systems, buildings, facilities and equipment. water, gas, drainage, sewage and other plumbing systems; Undertaking fabrication works; Operating hand and power tools associated with, plumbing, repairs, welding, joinery, mechanical, Electrical and other trades; and Carrying out cleaning, lubricating and oiling machinery and equipment Keeping the machinery, equipment and tools clean after every process.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: Trade Test Certificate Grade III in any of the following areas: Carpentry, Masonry, Welding, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent from a recognized institution; and Proficiency in computer application skills.
