Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician (HVAC Technician and Home Appliances)

Job Title:Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician (HVAC Technician)
Reports To: Operations Manager / Technical Supervisor

1. Job Purpose

To install, maintain, and repair refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, and ventilation equipment. The technician ensures all systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably to support both domestic and organizational needs.

2. Key Responsibilities

Installation and Setup

• Install and configure refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Set up and test HVAC equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Provide on-site installation services and user guidance where necessary.

Maintenance and Repairs

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
• Replace faulty components and restore systems to optimal condition.

Technical Support

• Respond promptly to technical issues and service requests.
• Provide troubleshooting support for both electrical and mechanical faults.
• Advise users on proper usage and basic maintenance of HVAC equipment.

Equipment Handling and Safety

• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Handle tools and equipment responsibly to avoid damage or accidents.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Operational Support

• Maintain records of repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
• Assist in sourcing spare parts and recommending equipment replacements where necessary.
• Support continuous improvement of technical service processes.

Teamwork and Collaboration

• Work closely with other technicians and departments to meet service needs.
• Provide technical input during procurement or upgrades of HVAC equipment.

• Turnaround time for repairs and maintenance

• Customer/user satisfaction levels
• Accuracy of service and maintenance records

3. Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, HVAC Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 2+ years practical experience in installation and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Proven hands-on experience (not a fresh graduate)
• Knowledge of electrical systems and basic electronics
