Job Description/Requirements
We are an organization located in a rural environment 60 km from Kericho town consisting of tea estates and two highly automated tea factories. We have an innovative approach to the growing and manufacturing of black tea and pride ourselves in the quality of our personnel and our productivity.
We are seeking a suitable applicant for the position of SECURITY SUPERVISOR.
As a security supervisor, you will be entirely responsible for all security operations within your scope as stipulated in this document and under the guidance of the security manager to who you will directly report.
Roles and responsibilities
1. To be the overall in charge of all the security sections apart from the control room and the quick reaction force which remain entirely under the security manager’s discretion for tasking unless otherwise directed.
2. To report to the H ODs(Factory managers and estate managers) every day at the start and close of business for information, liaison, and feedback on the performance of guards or any other security observations/concerns that require attention.
3. To report to the security manager every day at the start and close of business for information, consultation, direction, or otherwise any consolidation thereof.
4. To visit all the sections and summarize all the daily occurrences reflected in the estate OBs in all manned sentry points or be privy to information on the same from the estate security in charge every day and reflect the same in a daily situation written report.
5. To work hand in hand with the control room in charge throughout the period of duty for proper monitoring and control of security operations.
6. To work hand in hand with all the sections in charge to ensure their sections are up and running and correct if not report any anomalies for attention and action as soon as possible
7. To coordinate continuous security section training for all sections under the guidance of the security manager.
8. To conduct periodical impromptu spot checks in all sections to ascertain not only the presence but also alertness and assess the performance of these sections.
9. To coordinate pre-planned penetration tests under the guidance of the security manager and in the knowledge of the HODs .
10. To ensure the security in-charges thoroughly go through the delivery notes of the previous day every day and ascertain their validity; escalate any observations to the respective HODs and inform the same to the security manager for appropriate action.
11. To coordinate all security operations including deployments, parades, co-curricular activities, and any other security-related activities under the guidance of the security manager and the knowledge of the H ODs/ Executive.
12. To visit all the critical installations, fields, and assets daily and report observations on the same in witting to the security manager.
13. To enforce discipline, and security routine including the planning of special operations under the guidance of the security manager.
14. To establish local security contacts and security champions within and without the company for your own intelligence gathering and conduct continuous liaison with government agencies within your areas of responsibility.
15. To prepare and share weekly intelligence reports in security meetings
16. To ensure staff and guests comply with all the security laid down procedures and escalate any deliberate defiance for action as soon as possible.
17. To correct any anomalies noted, record the particulars of the anomaly and escalate the same as appropriate to the security manager for attention and action.
18. To stand in as the acting security manager for all purposes in the absence of the security manager.
19. To perform any other security-related duties commensurate to your appointment as and assigned to you by the security manager or the executives.
Minimum Requirements
1. Preferably a former Military Officer(Commissioned Officer) or GSU Officer
2. Degree in Security Management or any other relevant course
3. A minimum of 6 years in high-level security with a minimum of two years in security tasking management.
4. Experience in managing a guard force.
5. Working knowledge of multiple security functions and security-driven technology solutions with a proven track record in security management, planning, and coordinating.
6. Enthusiastic and committed approach with a track record of building strong, trusted base relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
7. A sound working knowledge of security best practices and legislation affecting the security role.
8. Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating, and engagement skills.
