Why You’ll Love This Role: Our newly created Special Hazards Manager role will oversee the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of advanced fire suppression systems (clean agent, foam, deluge) in high-risk environments like data centers, chemical storage, and power plants. You’ll ensure compliance with NFPA standards, conduct risk assessments, and manage specialized extinguishing systems to protect critical infrastructure. It’s a critical role in a rapidly expanding field, perfect for someone on the cutting edge of fire suppression technology.
What You’ll Do

  • System Oversight: Manage the design, installation, and maintenance of specialized fire suppression systems
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all systems comply with local, state, and federal codes, as well as NFPA standards (e.g., NFPA 13, 20, 72)
  • Risk Assessment & Testing: Perform rigorous inspections, testing, and risk audits on fire alarm and suppression systems in high-value or hazardous areas.
  • Project Management: Manage projects involving fire protection upgrades, collaborating with contractors and engineers to meet project objectives.
  • Emergency Response & Training: Develop fire safety plans and train employees on emergency procedures and system operations.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with customers; serve as primary point of contact for escalations; address customer concerns promptly and effectively; monitor customer satisfaction.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day service operations including invoicing, inventory management, and order processing; ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers; manage escalations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current on industry trends, innovations, and technology; identify and implement improvements to enhance delivery and customer satisfaction.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in fire protection
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in fire alarm, detection, and suppression systems
  • Leadership Abilities: 2+ years of experience in team management, coaching, and development of fire alarm professionals
  • Certifications: NICET II or higher preferred
  • Customer Focus: Strong commitment to customer satisfaction with proven ability to manage complex customer relationships
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively interact with team members, customers, and senior management
  • Availability: Full-time position with occasional after-hours availability for emergency situations
  • Compliance: Drug screening and background checks will only be conducted after a conditional job offer is made. We evaluate criminal history based on its relevance to the job duties.
  • Pay: $90,000 – $130,000 per year; pay depends on experience and qualifications
