What are we looking for?
Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Specialist Neuro Clinical Physiologist to join our Neurophysiology team, with a competitive salary range on offer.
This role will be part of a highly innovative, evidence based, forward thinking multi-disciplinary team. This role will provide a wide range of neurophysiology investigations including highly specialised procedures on inpatients and outpatients from any specialty.
Role
This is a full time, permanent role working from Monday to Friday with 1 non-working day during the week. Shift patterns will vary and range from:
9am – 5pm
8am – 6pm
8am – 5:30pm

What will your duties include?

  • To be able to encourage and motivate patients with a range of complex conditions to perform routine tests.
  • Plan, perform and interpret a range of neurophysiological investigations to a high level of competence, performing current standard techniques without supervision. The post holder must be able to modify the test according to the circumstances or the patient’s condition. They should be able to record using both standard and non-standard electrode placement with the exact placement of electrodes and recording procedure are the responsibility of the practitioner.
  • Perform EEG recordings to include video electroencephalograms with activation procedures (e.g. hyperventilation and photic stimulation where indicated.), Sleep recordings – natural, sleep deprived and drug induced, prolonged recording for monitoring therapeutic drug levels, seizure occurrence or to monitor immediate effects of drug administration.
  • Demonstrate experience in performing and interpreting all basic modalities of Intraoperative monitoring, including but not limited to TcMEPs, SSEPs, IoEEG and free-run EMG.
  • Perform all modalities of evoked potentials as requested. These must include visual evoked potentials and electroretinograms, brainstem auditory evoked potentials, somatosensory evoked potentials (upper and lower limbs).
  • Liaise with other clinical physiologists and clinical engineers over faults or problems with the equipment used in any part of the service and be aware of any subsequent changes in the operating procedure.
  • Presentation of research findings, educational teaching and poster presentations at professional meetings.
  • Regularly participate in audits to ensure compliance with the development of professional and local policies and procedures and clinical standards. Audit studies may be local, regional or countrywide

What we need from you?

  • BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent – Essential
  • Member of Professional Organization: HCPC, AHCS, and ANS – Essential
  • Able to communicate effectively with patients, medical staff and other healthcare professionals – Essential
  • At least 5 years worth of experience and can do all OP/IP (EEG, VT/HVT, Evoke Potentials - VEP, SSEP, BAEP independently) - Essential
  • Evidence of advanced practice experience i.e. fully proficient in specialised neurophysiological techniques - Desirable
  • Experience in formulation and maintenance of SOP's - Desirable
