ORGANIZATIONAL INTEGRATION
Function: Team Leader-Packhouse
Department: Exports and Logistics
Line Manager: Packhouse Supervisor.
Acquaintance time: 3 Months.
Time to effective performance: 3 Months
GLOBAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
• To supervise, plan and organize storage of all cuttings from the field and to execute the order as per customer requirements.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES, CAPACITIY AND DUTIES / REPORTING
• Accountable for Labor Management
• Accountable for Scanning, sorting ,labelling of orders
• Accountable for Packing, confirmation of packed boxes
• Accountable for Accurate dispatch of all orders
• Accountable High hygiene/6S standards of whole Packhouse
• Any other duty within the role as may be assigned by immediate supervisor
KEY CONTANCTS
• Packhouse Supervisor, Crop supervisors, Export and Logistics, HR department.
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
• On time scanning and delivery of cutting from field to colstore-daily harvest checklist and progress.
• Storage of cuttings at the right temperature.
• Approprately sorted cuttings in the coldstore.
• Boxes prepared as per requirement-confirmation report
• Error free packing-Customer with zero complain and feeback report
• Proper house keeping and safe working environment. report-6S report
• on time error Free in full dispatches of shipments.

EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Floriculture, Agriculture and Supply Chain Management

DETAILED TASK DESCRIPTION
LABOUR MANAGEMENT
• Ensure 100% labour accountability
• Ensure staff achieve 100% targets
• To provide constructive and continuous feedback on weekly, monthly performance and carry out scheduled performance evaluation for cooler attendants.
• Instruct and guide the cold room personnel in execution of their duties.
• Overtime control for staff
• Responsible for staff selection, orientation and monthly safety training.
• Transport -Receiving and storage of cuttings -Dispatch of shipment to jkia
TRANSPORT- RECEIVING AND STORAGE OF CUTTINGS-DISPATCH CUTTINSG TO JKIA
• To ensure timely scanning of harvested bags in the cooler.
• To ensure cuttings are precooled to correct temperature then stored in the locations.
• To ensure cuttings are sorted and allocated to the assigned locations in the cooler.
• To ensure cuttings whose storage life has expired or not required for sales are discarded.
• Routine check on cooling units.
• Responsible Accountable for loading of truck with shipmemt to jkia.
SHIPPING OF CUTTINGS AND MANAGEMENT OF PACKAGING MATERIALS
• To ensure shipping boxes have been prepared and well labelled.
• Document all boxes used per variety after each packing and related dispatch tp various customers
• To ensure there is adequate stock of ice packs and insulation materials, and inserted in the boxes as required.
• To supervise packing of cuttings in the boxes as per the box label and ensure ice packs and data loggers are placed as required.
• To oversee the sealing and loading of boxes in the shipping truck.
• Ascertaining quality of packing to ensure it meets the standards.
HOUSE KEEPING AND MAINTENANCE
• Make sure hygiene of crates and empty crates are kept in order
• Ensure surrounding areas around the cooler are clean and tidy.
• Carry out 6S audits on weekly and monthly schedules
• Supervise off-loading of materials from the suppliers meant for packaging are arranged in the packing material storage area
• Responsible for own Health& Safety and report any industrial accident to superior and Human Resources department
• Ensures proper maintenance of cold room temperatures per product specification
• Perform any other duties that may be allocated to you by your superior.
