Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) Following the enactment of the Energy Act , Rural Electrification Authority (REA) has now changed to Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC). REREC has an expanded mandate of spearheading Kenya’s green energy drive, in addition to implementing rural electrification projects.

Job Specifications 

Implementing policies and programmes on power system design; Undertaking designs for grid extension projects as per the acceptable standards; Recommending location of proposed distribution networks including primary and secondary feeding substations by preparing description of project works, material schedules and cost estimates; Compiling and documenting projects technical reports including Design, Survey, Cartography and Wayleave; and Identifying the route for wayleaves acquisition for all REREC projects.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical engineering or ts equivalent from a recognized institution; Minimum KCSE C- (Minus) or its equivalent; Proficiency in computer applications; and Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
