Terms of service: Three (3) years' Contract
Duties and Responsibilities
ix. Giving theoretical and practical instruction in the area of specialization;
x. Preparing and maintaining schemes of work, lesson plan, learning materials and trainee records;
xi. Carry out trainee assessment;
xii. Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment;
xiii. Conducting co-curricular activities;
xiv. Maintain trainee discipline, guidance and counselling;
xv. Monitoring trainees on field work, industrial attachment and compiling progress reports;
xvi. Participate in the departmental budgets and
xvii. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this position, a person should:
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen
ii. Have a relevant Diploma in a Technical field from a recognized institution
iii. Demonstrate professional competence in any of the following technical areas:Electrical and Electronics Technology, Electrical Installations, Electrical Wireman, Motor Vehicle Technology, Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, carpentry and joinery, Metal processing Technology, Welding and Fabrication, Fashion Design and Garment making/Tailoring/Dress making, Information Communication Technology(ICT), Agribusiness/Horticulture/General Agriculture, Plumbing and pipe fitting, Food and Beverage, Food Processing Technology, Building and Construction Technology, Masonry, Hair dressing & Beauty Therapy and Business Technical Education.
iv. Have a minimum of three (3) years working experience as a trainer in a Vocational Training Centre
v. Have proficiency in Computer applications
vi. Meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
Salaries are as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
