Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of their international client in the manufacturing industry is seeking
a motivated and reliable Welding Helper to support our fabrication operations. The ideal
candidate will assist certified welders and fabricators in preparing welding jobs, maintaining tools
and materials, and ensuring a clean, safe working environment. This role is perfect for candidates
with basic knowledge of MIG and TIG welding processes who are looking to grow their skills in a
professional industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities
• Support welders during cutting, fitting, and welding operations.
• Prepare and position materials for welding following instructions from supervisors.
• Assist with basic MIG and TIG welding tasks as needed.
• Set up welding equipment and maintain consumables (rods, wire, shielding gas, etc.).
• Clean, grind and finish welded surfaces as directed.
• Maintain tools, equipment and shop area in a clean and organized manner.
• Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Report any material shortages, equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Adhere to quality standards and production deadlines.

Qualifications
✓ High school diploma, Technical Certificate (preferred), or equivalent experience.
✓ Basic understanding of MIG & TIG welding principles and processes.
✓ Prior experience in a fabrication or welding helper role is an advantage.
✓ Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team and learn on the job.
✓ Good physical stamina and ability to handle manual fabrication tasks.
