Position: Economist III (Macro Surveillance) - 1 Post
Reports to:Â Head of Division
Contract type:Â Â Â Contract for unspecified period of time
Location:Â Â Â Â Head Office, Dar es Salaam
Job Purpose:
To monitor and analyze developments in the domestic, regional and global macro-economic environment and assessing implications on the domestic economy and financial stability.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
•Conducting systematic assessment of economic developments of key economic sectors (government, real sector, household and business sectors);
•Monitoring developments in the regional and global financial systems and identifying relevance to domestic financial stability;
•Monitoring financial soundness indicators for households, business sectors and property price indices and assessing impact on financial stability;
•Developing adverse macro-economic scenarios for use in regular macro-economic stress testing of the domestic financial system;
•Conducting research and studies on macro-economic issues that would likely impact on the stability of the financial system;
•Preparing financial stability reports;
•Performing other related duties as may be assigned by the head of division.
Education/Professional Qualifications Required:
•Bachelor’s degree in economics or its equivalent from an accredited institution;
•Master’s degree will be an added advantage;
