About Mukuru Promotion Centre
Mukuru Promotion Centre (MPC) is a faith-based charitable organization supporting communities in the informal settlements of Mukuru, South B, Nairobi. The Sisters of Mercy founded MPC in 1985 in response to the community challenges in the Mukuru Informal Settlements. It is situated at the heart of the Industrial Area, along the New Likoni Road just 1 km off Mombasa Road and borders the Mukuru Kayaba Informal Settlement.
MPC endeavors to empower the Mukuru community through education, health, welfare and social rehabilitation services.
About Our Lady of Mercy Vocational Training Centre
Our Lady of Mercy Vocational Training Centre is one of the 9 programs under Mukuru promotion Centre managed by the Sisters of Mercy. Its main purpose is to support the vulnerable youths from Mukuru slums and its environs by empowering them with skills in various fields so that it can improve their economic status and be able to sustain themselves.
Courses offered: Computer studies, Tailoring and dressmaking, Garment making, Hair dressing and beauty, Catering (food and beverage), Plumping and masonry, Welding and fabrication, Art and craft, DEEJAY.
Catering in food and beverage is a 2-year course which includes house-keeping and laundry. We are looking for qualified personnel to fill in the position of Catering Instructor.
