About One Acre Fund

One Acre Fund is a nonprofit social enterprise headquartered in Kakamega, Kenya, dedicated to empowering smallholder farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa. Founded in 2006 by Andrew Youn, John Gachunga, and Eric Pohlman, the organization provides asset-based financing, quality farm inputs, and hands-on agricultural training to help farmers increase yields and build lasting pathways out of poverty.

Operating in nine countries—including Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria, and Zambia—One Acre Fund has served over four million farm families. Its market-based approach ensures that farmers not only improve their harvests but also contribute to thriving local economies.
