The organization is an international Project Management and Support
service provider who specializes in providing services of construction,
logistics, waste management and Facilities maintenance in post conflict and challenging
areas. The company is headquartered in Dubai with offices in many areas in
Africa including Kenya. We are therefore looking to fill the position of Accountant (1) in our South Sudan
operations.
Job Purpose/Summary
To perform professional accounting works, maintain the required checks & balances when dealing with fiscal data and handling company funds. Assist in collection of historical data to prepare budgets, forecasts, month end & year-to date reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Complies with the company and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Should Produce and oversee all necessary reports/filing as required by the management in a timely & accurate manner
- Provide inventory details as and when required by management
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documents
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or Bachelor of Commerce with specialization in Accounting or Industry standard qualifications in Accounting.
- Minimum experience of 6 years in large scale operation in an international environment.
- Well versed in ERP Accounting software system
- With good experience in project based accounting
Essential Skills
- Thorough understanding of the Accounting System/Packages/Software.
- Literacy of MS office package and specially Intermediate level knowledge in Ms Excel preferred
- Ability to interpret the Data and analyze it.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports/statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
