Introduction: This is a one off job that pays Ksh.250, 000 on Milestone Basis and should be finished within 2-3 months. Product Details:
A complete sellable product. Meaning once the product is developed, we can sell to customers.
Three main part of the project;
a. software for bootloader
b. hardware (usb-flash drive)
c. PC software to check if the PC hardware is compatible with USB-flash drive before consumer buy it from online.
•The hardware should be an usb dongle; the usb-dongle should be impossible to hack; USB flash drive most now show as usb flash drive on customer computer; then its easily hack able. Must have variation of eprom etc to prevent hacking. Open to suggestions.
•Product must be compatible with Intel based laptop and desktop. Simple, complete, installation of OS X with drivers for all components, such as network, video, sound, and all motherboards components with stability and upgradability to all OS X version. (10.5.X and higher) OS X must not crash when updating OS X version through app store or other media. OS X must work with apple app store, and all i-related software among all OS X compatible software. Must work with sleep and shut down function of PC. Any software that is compatible with a Mac Pro should be compatible with OSX on PC.
•Product must have a booting menu which will scan the PC for different OS and allow booting of other OS such as, windows, Linux, and even different version of OS X which could be in same hard drive or in separate hard drive.
•Product support for 6 months must be included.
•Ongoing product support after 6 months will be paid hourly based or monthly based. Open to suggestions.
•Product firmware/software updates utility which allow usb-dongle to be updated for new os x update and new hardware (Hence ongoing support is needed) this is desktop software in windows and Mac OS compatible.
•All the codes must be commented for others programmer to follow and update if necessary.
•Project must meet its date line; project must be in 8 parts and fund would be allocated as such. 4 part for software 4 part for hardware open to suggestions.
•Project estimated time no longer than 3 months. If completed sooner I will add some bonus based on my experience with dev/or dev team.
•I own the codes right, and once completed codes must be transferred to me.
•Utility to transfer/update the codes to hardware (usb-dongle).
•I am sure there will be other requirement which will come about as working in the project; I am open to suggestions. Please submit your project plan; you must understand how OS X, EFI, BIOS works.
•Must be well tested with different motherboards brands and laptops; will allow 2wks for testing.
