Accountant – Accounts Payable

Location: Thika, Kenya 

Reports to: Senior Accountant 

Function: Finance

Salary Range: KES 40,000 – 60,000 per month (commensurate with experience)

• • Key Responsibilities.
    

    • Approve purchase invoices daily and analyze expenses monthly.
      
    • Maintain daily cashflow records.
      
    • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
      
    • Prepare and file Withholding VAT & Tax returns weekly for three companies.
      
    • Prepare and file VAT returns monthly.
      
    • Update ERP with bill discounting, payments, and exchange differences.
      
    • Maintain fixed asset schedules, open new asset accounts, and post monthly depreciation.
      
    • Conduct monthly stock takes and reconciliations.
      
    • Analyze expenses and recommend cost control measures for vehicles and machinery.
      
    • Prepare monthly reports on unrealized exchange differences and post related journals.
      
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    
    

    Qualifications & Experience.
    

    • Finance graduate / CPA Part III.
      
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in accounting.
      
    • Strong ERP and MIS skills.
      
    • Knowledge of Kenyan taxation and local laws.
      
    • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
