JOB SUMMARY
The role is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial management and accountability by overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and project accounting functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities Participate in preparation of the Annual Budget of the CompanyMonitor and control budgets and institute system budgetary controls.Participate in preparation of quarterly, mid-year and annual accounts.Responsible for closure and capitalization of projects under Central Office.Liaise with projects section to ensure accuracy of disbursed amounts to suppliers/contractors.Ensure timely reconciliations of loan accounts to reflect accurate credit position.Liaise with internal and external auditors on loan audit queries and ensure timely responses.Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments to suppliers of goods and services.Ensure prompt updating and validation of financial records in the region.Maintain internal controls and effective accounting systems and policies for accurate financial transactions.Conduct monthly reconciliation of Vendor GL Accounts against supplier statements.Verify payments made by cheques.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (K) or equivalent qualification by a recognized body.Member, Institute of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in good standing Five (5) years’ relevant work experience in Finance or related function Proficiency in computerized financial systems and Data AnalysisDemonstrated results in work performanceGood interpersonal and communication skills Supervisory and team building skillsA high degree of initiative & analytical thinkingAttention to detail and self-drivenNegotiation skills; planning & reporting skillsStrong and demonstrable ethical and integrity credentials
