JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accountant to manage the integrity of our balancesheet,with a specific focus on Fixed Assets, Insurance, GL and Tax compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure strict adherence to Group accounting policies (Allied Universal requirements) and local statutory regulations. You will assist in the financial period closure within the Ramco ERP system and will play a critical role in safeguarding assets through robust controls and reconciliation

RESPONSIBILITIES

Asset Lifecycle:● Oversee the entire fixed asset lifecycle, ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals,transfers, and retirements in the fixed asset register.Depreciation:● Calculate and post monthly depreciation charges in line with company policy and IFRS.Physical Verification● Coordinate periodic physical verification of assets to ensure 100% accuracy of the asset registerand investigate any discrepancies.2. General Ledger & ProvisionsMonth-End Closure:● Post all monthly provisions, accruals, and recurring journal entries to ensure accurate financialreporting.Interdivisional Accounts:● Monitor and clear all transactions in interdivisional accounts, ensuring a zero balance ismaintained at the close of each period.Prepayments:● Manage the allocation of prepaid expenses (specifically insurance premiums) across the relevantperiods in the general ledger.3. Tax ManagementCompliance:● Ensure timely and accurate computation of statutory deductions, including Value Added Tax (VAT)and Withholding Tax (WHT).Payments & Filing:● Prepare and file tax returns with the relevant authorities and ensure payments are processedbefore deadlines to avoid penalties.4. Insurance AdministrationClaims Management:● Act as the primary finance contact for insurance matters. Report incidents, coordinate withadjusters, and prepare necessary documentation for all insurance claims.Premium Allocation:● Track insurance premium payments and ensure the prepaid portion is accurately amortized in the ledgers monthly.5.Systems & Process ImprovementERP Management:● Serve as the key user for the financial module of the Ramco ERP during period closures,troubleshooting issues and ensuring a smooth lock-down process.Internal Controls:● Formulate, document, and enforce adherence to all company internal controls, financial policies,and accounting procedures.Audit Support:● Prepare detailed reports, asset listings, inventory summaries, and supporting documents asrequested by internal and external auditors during annual audits.
