GSMA – The Role

This role is a key position in the finance team. This person will be responsible for managing and developing the AP function in a diverse and interesting industry.

The main duties are:

  • Lead and develop the Accounts Payable team of 3 direct reports
  • Manage the processing and monthly payment of supplier invoices ensuring adherence to approval rules
  • Manage staff expense reclaim process through Concur to ensure compliance with company policy and process payment – fortnightly payment runs.
  • Management of the Purchase Ledger close process ensuring integrity of data, timely resolution of reconciling items and adherence to monthly reporting deadlines
  • Strategic supplier relationship management ensuring reconciliation to supplier records
  • Continuous improvement of tools and processes. Liaising with business users to ensure the AP function continues to meet the needs of a changing organization.
  • Escalation point for supplier and business payment/process queries

This role would suit someone with a strong intellect, who enjoys a hands-on approach and strives to develop best practice tools and processes within a strong financial control environment.  This role will suit an individual with previous management experience who enjoys leading a successful and enthusiastic team to deliver high quality results in a busy environment. GSMA is a global organization with offices and activities in countries throughout the world and so strong multi-currency experience is essential

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:

  • Highly organized individual with excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude
  • Strong levels of customer service both internal and external
  • Good communication skills. Very strong written English and professional manner.
  • Excellent team-player and management skills, used to working towards shared objectives and both supporting and developing a highly motivated team
