Agriculturist / Agriculture & Horticulture Specialist

The role will involve assisting customers, diagnosing plant problems and recommending appropriate products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify plant pests, diseases and nutrient deficiencies.
- Provide customers with advice on plant care, watering, fertilization and soil management.
- Recommend appropriate pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and fertilizers based on identified problems.
- Explain correct product dosage, application methods and safety precautions.
- Provide technical support for ornamental plants, indoor plants, gardens and horticultural crops.
 -Assist customers in selecting suitable plants for different environments and growing conditions.
 -Monitor the health and condition of plants within the shop and nursery.
 -Maintain knowledge of new agricultural products, pest-control methods and horticultural practices.
- Assist with stock selection and advise management on agricultural and horticultural products to introduce.
 -Educate customers on responsible and safe pesticide use.
 -Keep records of common plant problems and customer recommendations.
 -Support sales staff with technical information about agricultural products.
 -Participate in plant maintenance, nursery activities and demonstrations where required.
Requirements

 -Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Protection, Plant Science or a related field.
 -Good knowledge of plant diseases, pests, fertilizers and pesticides.
 -Strong interest in ornamental plants and horticulture.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
-Ability to diagnose plant problems practically.
 -Ability to explain technical agricultural information in simple terms.
 -Previous experience in agricultural retail, nursery management, agro-inputs or agricultural extension is an advantage.
