Role Description The AI Ambassador is a volunteer, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya, focused on promoting AI education and Wecncode’s learning opportunities within local communities. In this role, you will engage with learners and partners, introduce them to Wecncode programs, and guide them toward suitable AI and technology courses and events. You will help organize and support workshops, meetups, and outreach activities, including assisting with logistics, registration, and participant coordination. The AI Ambassador will also collect feedback from participants, share community insights with the Wecncode team, and collaborate on initiatives that increase awareness and adoption of AI and emerging technologies. This role involves representing Wecncode at events, building relationships with educational institutions and community groups, and helping create an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Interest in AI, software development, or emerging technologies, with a willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on new tools and trends.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, including comfort speaking with diverse audiences and explaining technical concepts in simple terms.
- Community engagement or outreach experience, such as organizing events, leading student clubs, or participating in tech communities.
- Basic familiarity with online learning platforms and digital tools used for organizing events, communication, and collaboration.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small team, take initiative, and manage time effectively in a volunteer capacity.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, equity, and creating welcoming learning spaces for people from varied backgrounds.
- Residence in or reliable access to Nairobi County, Kenya, and availability to attend in-person events and activities as needed.
- Prior involvement in tech education, mentorship, or student leadership is an advantage but not required.
