Job descriptions & requirements
Our client is a well-established, employee-owned commercial electrical contracting firm in the US Southwest, partnering with major general contractors on healthcare, aviation, data center, commercial, and higher education projects. As they invest in AI and automation across operations, they need a specialist who can lead the work end-to-end.
You will own the evaluation, design, and rollout of AI and automation across estimating, project management, recruiting, marketing, and back-office functions. This is not a research role — you will be shipping production workflows, training department leaders, and reporting on ROI. In your first 90 days, success looks like 2–3 production AI workflows live in priority departments, with documented SOPs, measurable time savings, and active adoption.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Audit the existing software ecosystem and identify high-ROI automation opportunities
- Design and ship workflows using Power Automate, Zapier, or n8n, integrated with Microsoft 365 and line-of-business tools
- Build prompt systems and reusable frameworks around ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or domain-specific platforms
- Partner with IT and security on data privacy, access controls, and risk review before deployment
- Train department leaders and their teams on adoption — and stay close enough to measure whether adoption sticks
- Prepare ROI reports and recommend what to scale, refactor, or sunset
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years building AI systems, automations, or data integrations in a paid role
- Hands-on production experience with at least two of: Power Automate, Zapier, or n8n — including multi-step flows with error handling
- Working fluency with generative AI tools (ChatGPT Enterprise, Copilot, Claude) inside real workflows
- Strong prompt engineering and workflow logic skills
- Scripting in Python or JavaScript for the cases no-code cannot cover
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- Excellent stakeholder communication — you can win over a skeptical department head and train their team without ego
- Comfortable in professional services, construction, technical, or other operations-heavy industries
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with AI inside Microsoft 365 (Copilot Studio, Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams)
- Familiarity with construction management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar)
- Prior work in construction, AEC, or other operations-heavy industries
HOW WE WORK
Remote-first, async-heavy, with consistent overlap into US Mountain Time. You will operate independently between syncs and be measured on workflows shipped, adoption rates, and documented impact.
COMPENSATION
Up to $10/hour USD, full-time, long-term role with growth potential.
