Job Description/Requirements

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Graphic Systems is the largest printing and packaging company in Kenya. It supplies indoor and outdoor print advertising collateral, commercial printing, cartons, labels and promotional items. In addition the company manufactures corporate wear and garments.


Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports to: Business Unit Head - Commercial

Qualification: MBA/MA/MSc in Sales & Marketing (preferred), BA in Sales Marketing, Management.

Linguistic skills: English: Written (Fluent) Spoken (Fluent).


Experience: - Minimum 7 years of experience in sales & marketing of commercial printing goods or promotional giveaway items

- Minimum 3 years’ experience of managing a sales & marketing team of at least 10 individuals.

- Exposure to several technologies including: sheet fed offset, large format printing, digital printing, screen printing

- Serving at least 50 clients, and selling a minimum of 100 SKU’s

- Managing sales of at least 1,000,000 USD per annum


Age: Minimum 30 years old - Maximum 45 years old.


Product line: Commercial Printing (books, posters, flyers, carnets), Large Format printing (billboards, pull up banners, tear drops), Garmenting (corporate uniforms, customized t-shirts, polos, overalls) and promotional giveaway items (USBs, mugs, agendas, etc.)

Sales & Marketing:

1. Strong analytical, problem solving & PR skills

2. Strong organizational skills

3. Ability to identify opportunities to increase margin & sales

4. Ability to use market information to increase market share

5. Ability to create strong relationship with clients

6. Ability to cross sell & up sell

7. Ability to identify & develop new product categories


Production:

1. Strong understanding of production processes (offset printing, large format, garment manufacturing)

Human Resources:

1. Ability to manage, monitor & inspire a team of 10+ individuals

2. Goal setting for subordinates and subsequent productivity and target monitoring

3. Staff recruitment & induction

Administrative Skills:

1. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel

2. Experience with working on SAP (ideally)


Key Responsibilities:


Profitability:

Achieving the sales targets as per the annual budget


Public Relations:

  • Maintaining the strong reputation of the firm with clients
  • Developing department specific marketing collateral & campaigns


Human Resources:

  • Managing Commercial Department sales & marketing team and related administrative tasks, alongside the other Sales & Marketing Manager – Commercial Department
  • Ensuring security of assets directly allocated to Commercial Department sales & marketing team
  • Induction process & recruitment for new staff
  • Ensuring a safe, collaborative, and professional workspace, that is in line with Company values 
  • Staff productivity analysis


Finance


Administrative

  • Record keeping (sample approvals, contracts, etc.)
  • QMS/Environmental audit participation, if required


Production:

Coordinate with production team to ensure orders are delivered as per client requirements
