Job Description/Requirements

Job Purpose
  1. To undertake the duties and responsibilities of an AutoCAD Operator and in so doing to assist the Company`s Managers and Director(s) to achieve the Company`s stated aims and objectives.
  2. To deliver any AutoCAD operating tasks assigned within the Administration Department and to be diligent in performing all tasks assigned. 
  3. To assist the Administration Manager in his / her duties, as necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the Administration Department at SMTS (K) Limited`s office(s) and if necessary elsewhere.  
  4. To the best of your ability to deputize for the Administration Manager, if you are required to do so, during his / her absence. 
  5. To assist by any and all means available to ensure continuity and expedition of all aspects of SMTS (K) Limited`s business in line with the aims and aspirations of the Company. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • To comply at all times with the Policies and Procedures published by SMTS (K) Limited (the Company), to maintain a complete understanding of the Company`s Business and to use particular knowledge and skill to assist the Director(s) and all other employees in achieving the commercial and ethical aims of the Company.
  • To use your best endeavour`s at all times together with the systems and facilities available at SMTS (K) Limited`s office(s) to deliver any and all demands made upon the Administration Department in administering the Company`s business.  
To perform the following:-
  • Draw floor plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) software.
  • To prepare conceptual basic/ complex 2D/3D floor plans using AutoCAD software.
  • to interpret the results of asbestos survey and bulk sampling returns provided by the asbestos surveyors
  • Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
  • to update spreadsheets, report and relay information to SMTS (K) Limited`s Clients.
  • to maintain company design standards
  • to ensure that customer`s enquiries are dealt-with in a polite, efficient manner and in accordance with the SMTS (K) Limited “Customer Care Policy and Procedures”
  • Ensure adherence to the SMTS (K) Limited “Health and Safety Policy” and all general or local Method Statements and Risk Assessments, etc. To adopt safe working practices and maintain good house-keeping standards in order to achieve a safe place of work and a healthy working environment.
  • to adhere to the SMTS (K) Limited “Environment and Sustainability Policy” by adopting environmentally friendly working practices and procedures as outlined in the SMTS (K) Limited “Environment and Sustainability Policy” Note: This will ensure a sustainable approach to the use of resources, to further ensure that such resources are utilised in an economical and sustainable way. The Policy is designed to ensure progress towards reduced waste disposal to Land-fill, Atmosphere and Watercourse, a reduced Carbon Footprint and achievement of ISO14001:2004.  
  • to adhere to the SMTS (K) Limited “Employment and Equal Opportunities Policy” to the benefit of all employees
  • to assist and take part in the “Employee Development and Training Policy” 
  • to carry-out any task, consistent with the Policies and Procedures of the Company, to aid and assist the progress and development of the Company as directed by the Director(s) of SMTS (K) Limited 
  • To ensure compliance with all SMTS (K) Limited`s policies and procedures and to carry out such other duties as may from time to time be determined.  
  • To perform other administrative duties as assigned
Pre requisites:
  • Have a valid national identification card
  • Certificate in AutoCAD
  • Brilliant AutoCAD skills
  • At least 1 year experience making floor plan designs
  • Good Presentation and interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form. 
  • Have a high degree of initiative and independent judgement.
  • Be able to organise work and engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • To be available, if necessary, to work additional hours at any reasonable time and at weekends for up to ten (10) weekends per year. The remuneration for this out of hours and weekend working will be time off in lieu or overtime at the flat-rate
