JOB SUMMARY
Minimum Qualifications and RequirementsAcademic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Automotive option), or a related field.Accreditation:Must be NITA certified and eligible to train NITA courses.Must be TVET Authority (TVETA) accredited or registrable as a trainer.Experience:Minimum 1–3 years relevant industry or teaching experience.Experience in vocational or technical training is an added advantage.Professional Certifications (Added Advantage):Master Craftsperson CertificationAutomotive diagnostics or manufacturer-based certifications
RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver automotive engineering theory and practical lessons as per NITA, KNEC and TVETA-approved curricula.Prepare lesson plans, training schedules, practical demonstrations, and workshop exercises.Train students in automotive systems including engines, electrical systems, transmission, braking, suspension, and vehicle diagnostics.Register students for NITA trade tests, KNEC Examinations and ensure compliance with assessment timelines.Conduct continuous assessments, practical evaluations, and mock trade tests.Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safety of workshop tools and equipment.Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.Mentor students on work ethics, safety standards, and workplace readiness.Coordinate industrial attachments, exposure visits, and industry linkages.Participate in curriculum review, staff meetings, and professional development activities.Support internal and external audits, inspections, and accreditation exercises.Perform any other duties related to training and student development as assigned.
