Job Summary
We are a Four Star boutique Hotel located in Westlands Nairobi looking for a professional, high-energy Barman, proficient with Micros, Materials Control(MC) ,with excellent communication skills, able to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our customers. The Barman should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelors
- Experience Level: Mid level
- Experience Length: 5 years
Job Description/Requirements
a)Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for the bar and restaurant guests.
b) Interact with guests, take orders and serve drinks.
c) Assess guest’s needs and preferences and make recommendations.
d) Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails.
e) Present the bar menu.
f) Sell or influence guests by upselling.
g) Maintain a clean working area.
h) Maintain liquor inventory and consumption.
i) Ensure the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and
serving guests.
j) Wash glassware and utensils after each use.
k) Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays.
l) Check customer’s identification and confirm it meets the legal drinking age.
m) Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
n) Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
o) Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
p) Conduct stock take.
q) Make requisitions through Materials Control system.
r) Other duties as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Hospitality Management
- 5 years experience in a similar role
- Outstanding presentation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Preferably a male candidate
