JOB SUMMARY

The Busbar Processing Technician will be responsible for the fabrication, modification, and assembly of cop- per and aluminium busbars used in electrical switchboards and power distribution systems. The role requires precision, technical expertise, and a strong understanding of electrical clearances, current ratings, and safety standards.RequirementsDiploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)Minimum 3 years' experience in busbar fabrication or a similar role within switchboard manufacturingStrong understanding of power distribution systems and busbar design principlesExperience working with copper and aluminium conductorsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationExperience operating busbar punching, cutting, and bending machinesKnowledge of electrical standards relating to busbar spacing, insulation, and fault levelsHigh level of precision and attention to detailStrong understanding of workshop safety practicesInterested candidates should send their CV and Cover Letter (clearly stating "job title" in the subject line) to the Email provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fabricate, cut, bend, punch, drill, and assemble copper and aluminium busbars according to engineering drawingsInterpret busbar layout drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specificationsOperate busbar processing machinery including punching, bending, and cutting equipmentMaintain required electrical clearances and creepage distancesEnsure correct dimensional tolerances, alignment, and surface finishingPerform quality inspections and measurements using appropriate toolsFollow workplace health and safety procedures at all timesAssist with busbar installation into switchboards and panel assembliesMaintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment
