The Accounts Receivables Accountant will oversee revenue management, debt collection, and receivables reconciliation for the Medical Centre while supporting broader accounting operations. The role ensures accurate billing, timely collections, proper revenue posting, debt recovery follow-up, and strong internal controls across outpatient, inpatient, laboratory, and pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable & Revenue Cycle: Oversee outpatient billing, issue inpatient interim and final discharge invoices, track revenue posting, and maintain patient/corporate debtor accounts.
• Debt Collection & Recovery: Manage active debt recovery, perform regular follow-ups (calls, emails, letters, visits), prepare aged receivables schedules, and document bad debt write-offs.
• Financial Reporting & Inventory: Reconcile daily collections, bank statements, and supplier accounts. Support inventory accounting for pharmacy, laboratory, and medical supplies.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax laws, statutory deductions (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF), and internal controls over billing and collections.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with front office, billing, clinical, and pharmacy teams to ensure complete capture of billable services.
  

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a reputable university.
• Professional Qualifications: Minimum CPA IV; CPA(K) preferred.
• Experience: 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with strong exposure to Accounts Receivable, debt management, and healthcare accounting (preferably within a medical center).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or equivalent). Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, revenue cycle management, and Kenyan tax laws.
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical and negotiation skills, high integrity, detail-oriented approach, and excellent organizational ability.
