The Petty Cashier will manage the company's petty cash transactions, ensuring small day-to-day business expenses are paid promptly, properly authorized, accurately recorded, and supported by valid documentation. The role focuses on safeguarding funds, reconciling physical cash float, verifying expense claims, and maintaining financial records in line with company policies.
Key Responsibilities

• Petty Cash Management: Maintain and safeguard the petty cash fund, disburse cash for approved business expenses within limits, and request replenishment as needed.
• Recording & Documentation: Record all receipts and payments in the register or accounting system, classify expenses under appropriate cost centers, and maintain organized files for audits.
• Cash Reconciliation & Control: Perform daily reconciliations of physical cash against the petty cash book, safeguard physical float, and report shortages or discrepancies immediately.
• Expense Verification: Check accuracy and authenticity of receipts and invoices, verify compliance with spending limits, and manage staff temporary advances.
• Reporting & Replenishment: Prepare periodic petty cash summaries, balance reports, and replenishment requests for Accountant review.
  

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience Level: Entry level, part-qualified, newly qualified, or qualified accountants are eligible to apply.
• Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of petty cash controls, basic bookkeeping, voucher preparation, and numerical accuracy.
• Core Competencies: High integrity, confidentiality, detail-oriented mindset, and strong organizational skills.
