ABOUT THE COMPANY

Professional bodies accrediting our courses include the Nursing Council of Kenya, the Medical Practitioners and Dentists, the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, among many. Mentoring teams students The dean of students and the academic departments oversees a mentorship and career advisory service for students during the time of study. At the end of the course, students are assisted to develop "employer attracting" resumes and coached for interviews. Mentoring teams sometimes consisting of alumni provide industry/ market insight, employability skills. These teams can assist you with contacts of potential employers.
JOB SUMMARY
This is a senior-level position in this cadre in the University and appointment shall be on such terms and conditions as may be determined by the Council from time to time depending on age,citizenship or any other reason as may be stipulated in the Kenyan Labour Laws.Academic QualificationThe candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from a recognised institutionyProfessional QualificationRegistered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.ExperienceThe candidate must' have at least two years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse within the last five years. Competence in clinical skills in areas of teaching and laboratory teaching responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Teaching of basic nursing skills in class2. Instructing students on nursing procedures in the skills lab3. Developing and maintaining records of clinical placements/rotations (change overs) forall the nursing students4. Communicating clinical objectives to the students and reviewing their achievementduring and after each clinical placement.5. Students' orientation to the clinical areas.6. Ensuring X-Y forms are filled for all the rotations.7. Visiting and instructing students during clinical placements8. Liaising with students' managers and mentors on issues concerning students' placement inthe hospitals.9. Resolution of students disputes during clinical placements in consultation with students'managers and the COD-Nursing and Nursing Officer In charge if needed.10. Preparing and reviewing students for clinical assessment tools.11. Preparing students for clinical assessments.12. Participate in students' clinical assessments.13. Maintaining of individual clinical assessment score sheets in the student files.14. Spearheading the review of the students logbook
