Role Description The Loan Officer Intern will support daily lending operations by assisting with client consultations, collecting and verifying customer information, and preparing loan application files. Responsibilities include helping with loan origination processes, participating in preliminary loan assessments, and supporting basic underwriting tasks under the guidance of senior staff. The intern will interact with clients in person, respond to inquiries, and help ensure a positive customer experience throughout the loan process. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mai Mahiu ward, and the intern will work closely with the finance team to learn industry best practices and gain hands-on experience in credit management.
Qualifications
  • Foundational knowledge or strong interest in Loan Officers functions and Loan Origination processes.
  • Basic understanding of Finance principles and willingness to learn more about financial products and lending operations.
  • Interest in Underwriting, with the ability to support data collection, documentation review, and preliminary risk assessment.
  • Customer Service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a professional, client-centered approach.
  • Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to follow procedures accurately.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Diploma or degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (current students or recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Ability to work on-site in Mai Mahiu ward, collaborate with a team, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
