(Sourcing / Expression of Interest – 2026–2027)
We are undertaking preliminary market sounding for a county-level programme focused on strengthening cooperative governance and institutional performance, with a strong emphasis on income delivery, accountability, and sustainable member value.
This initiative will support cooperative societies and cooperative-based institutions through board strengthening, governance reform, compliance improvement, and performance enhancement interventions.
At this stage, we are building a pool of senior specialists for short-term advisory and assignment-based engagements expected during 2026–2027.
This is an expression of interest only and not an immediate recruitment.
Scope of Work (Indicative)
Depending on assignment needs, selected specialists may support:
- Cooperative board governance assessments and reforms
- Board and senior management advisory engagements
- Review and strengthening of governance, compliance, and accountability frameworks
- Institutional performance diagnostics and turnaround support
- Development of governance tools, policies, and operating frameworks
- Capacity-building sessions for boards, committees, and senior leadership
- Advisory support to county governments or cooperative oversight structures
Ideal Profile
We are interested in senior practitioners with:
- Proven experience supporting cooperative boards, SACCOs, unions, or member-based institutions
- Strong grounding in governance, compliance, institutional strengthening, or reform programmes
- Experience working with county governments, national agencies, development partners, or large cooperative ecosystems
- Ability to deliver practical, implementation-focused advisory support
- Availability for short-term assignments or advisory engagements over 2026–2027
Prior experience in agriculture, SACCOs, agribusiness cooperatives, or public-sector-linked programmes is an added advantage.
Engagement Structure
- Assignment-based / short-term advisory roles
- Duration and scope will vary by assignment
- Engagements will be issued on a call-down basis from the expert pool
