About the job
The Country Head role supports the implementation of IB’s global strategy within the assigned country. The Country Leader is a leadership role responsible for driving country level KPIs, implementation, and sustainability of IB schools and government, district, and system (GDS) partnerships within centrally approved strategic, financial and governance parameters. Reporting to the Subregion Head or Regional Director, the Country Head will continue with their functional responsibilities and simultaneously lead a team designated to the countryto ensure alignment with regional strategies while tailoring initiatives to national contexts. This role is critical in strengthening IB's presence, building high-impact partnerships within the education ecosystem, and aligning IB initiatives with national education transformation goals and ensuring an excellent IB journey for IB schools and stakeholders. While the Country Head exercises leadership and judgment in execution and relationship management, IB Regional Offices exercise and conclude commercial negotiations and contract agreements in accordance with IB’s governance framework.
Responsibilities
- Lead regional school and IB programme growth to support IB's 2032 vision of reaching 5M students.
- Oversee country portfolio programs.
- Manage a delegated budget for in-country activity
- Lead functional leads of local professionals of up to five functions: community development, stakeholder partnership, recognition and advocacy, marketing and communications, and business operations.
- Lead the execution of country-specific community partnership and development strategies aligned with centrally approved strategies.
- Responsible for supporting the country's community expansion, and long-term impact on IB's mission.
- Monitor market trends and advise the Subregion Head/Regional Director on national opportunities and risks.
- Represent the IB in national forums and with key stakeholders in the education ecosystem.
- Lead the growth of IB-authorized schools and group of schools partnerships within the country by facilitating engagement and providing local contextualized support.
- Build and maintain relationships with Ministries of Education, local and regional education authorities and agencies, philanthropic organizations, and industries.
- Support alignment of IB programs with education reform agendas and transformation goals.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of leadership experience in education, policy, or international programs.
- Master's degree in Education, Public Policy, or related field.
- Experience working with government and education institutions.
- Familiarity with 1B programs and international education systems preferred.
- Proven track record in growing stakeholder base and stakeholder engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain high-level partnerships with governments and institutions.
