Pebble + Stem Farms brings over 70 years of local agriculture to our latest venture. We supply reliably fresh oyster mushrooms to chefs, retailers, and distributors in and around Nairobi. We cultivate in controlled rooms, chill immediately after harvest, and deliver on a predictable schedule—so your par levels stay covered without scramble.
Job descriptions & requirements
Pebble + Stem is looking for a chef to develop and cook 6 oyster mushroom recipes we’ll use to introduce our mushrooms to chefs and restaurants across Kenya.
What you’ll do
- Create 6 restaurant-ready mushroom dishes (e.g., oyster burger, hash, skewers, sides)
- Test, refine, and document each recipe (weights/measures, method, timing, plating, holding notes)
- Shop for ingredients (non-mushroom) using an approved list + budget, with receipts
- Cook at chef tastings (typically 4 hours on-site + prep) and events/activations (4-hour cook station, BBQ collaborations)
What we’re looking for
- Strong execution + speed + consistency
- Restaurant/catering/event experience
- Comfortable with grill/BBQ setups
- Organized and professional; able to teach/communicate with chefs
