Caritas Dairy is a dynamic, up-and-coming dairy processing company making in Kiambu County, Kenya. We're passionate about producing high-quality dairy products while empowering local smallholder farmers. As we embark on the next phase of growth, we seek a dynamic Operations Manager to join our leadership team.
The Role
You will be a strategic leader who provides oversight and direction for all aspects of our operations. Your focus will be on ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to the highest quality standards. You will play a vital role in driving our continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities:
1.        Lead and manage all dairy operations:Ensure efficient production, adherence to quality standards, and on-time delivery, while minimizing costs and exceeding customer expectations.
2.        Strategic Thinking and Representation: Partner with senior management on strategic initiatives and confidently represent Caritas Dairy when necessary.
3.        Drive Sales & Marketing Initiatives: Partner with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies that drive sales growth, brand awareness, and market share.
4.        Technology & Innovation: Lead the evaluation and implementation of innovative technologies and automation solutions to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve data-driven decision making.
5.        Foster a culture of continuous improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize operations, reduce waste, and ensure long-term sustainability.
6.        Sustainability: Lead efforts to implement sustainable practices throughout the dairy operations.
7.        Lead a food safety culture: Champion a culture of food safety within the organization, ensuring rigorous compliance with all food safety regulations and best practices.
8.        Strategy Implementation: Translate company strategy into actionable plans and ensure their successful execution.
9.        Staff Management: Build and lead a diverse, high-performing team, fostering inclusion and development for all levels through coaching, performance management and effective delegation
10.  Partner with the CEO to develop and implement long-term business strategies for sustainable growth.
11.  Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time by your immediate supervisor
Skills and Experience
1.        Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Food Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2.        Minimum 5 years of experience in an operations management role.
3.        Proven track record of leading and growing teams.
4.        Proven track record of leading and optimizing production processes for efficiency and quality.
5.        Strong understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
6.        Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to represent the CEO effectively.
7.        Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
8.        Experience with implementing and utilizing technology to improve operational efficiency.
9.        Passion for sustainability and commitment to responsible practices.
