JOB SUMMARY
DATA PROTECTION INTERNAirtel Kenya wishes to recruit a Data Protection Intern within the Legal & Regulatory Department. The Data Protection Intern will support the Data Protection Officer in implementing and monitoring compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 and the Regulations thereunder. The role provides hands-on exposure to privacy governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.Qualifications, competencies and behavior required:a) Law degree from an accredited law school and enrolled for the Postgraduate diploma at the Kenya School of Law .b) Knowledge of the Kenyan Data Protection Act 2019, the Regulations thereunder and global privacy best practices.c) Excellent writing, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines.d) Keen to develop and take personal initiative and possess a high aptitude for prioritizing tasks with attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support the Data ProtectionOfficer to review Airtel Kenya’s data protection compliance by updating the monthlyData Protection Implementation Tracker.2. Support the Data ProtectionOfficer to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments by engaging and collectinginformation from the relevant stakeholders.3. Assist in conducting quarterlyreview and update of the Personal Data Inventory; including following up onapprovals from the functional heads.4. Assist in ensuring complianceby third parties by reviewing and drafting data sharing and data processingagreements. 5. Support in reviewing and updatinglegal reports and trackers forcomplaints and regulatory correspondence.6. Support the Data ProtectionOfficer to manage, organize, and facilitate virtual and physical training ofAirtel staff and key partners. 7. Assist the Data ProtectionOfficer to conduct reviews of Airtel products and services that impact privacy.8. Perform any other dutiesassigned by the DPO in support of the data protection function.
