DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 
  
• Drive company mini vans and light trucks safely and responsibly within Nairobi and surrounding areas.
  
• Ensure timely collection, transportation, and delivery of goods and/or passengers as assigned.
  
• Plan daily routes based on traffic conditions, delivery schedules, and road safety considerations.
  
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (fuel, oil, brakes, tires, lights) and report any defects immediately.
  
• Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the assigned vehicle at all times.
  
• Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and offloaded to prevent damage or loss.
  
• Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, delivery notes, and incident reports.
  
• Comply with all traffic laws, company transport policies, and safety procedures.
  
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding delays, route changes, vehicle issues, or emergencies.
  
• Handle documents such as delivery notes, gate passes, and waybills responsibly.
  
• Support basic vehicle maintenance by coordinating servicing and minor checks when required.
  
• Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy when dealing with customers, suppliers, and the public.
  
• Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting daily targets and schedules.
  
• Be flexible to work extended hours, weekends, or public holidays when required.
  
• Immediately report accidents, breakdowns, traffic offenses, or security concerns.
  

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

• 
  
• Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience driving mini vans and/or light trucks.
  
• Valid Kenyan driving license (appropriate class for mini vans/light trucks).
  
• Strong knowledge of Nairobi routes, traffic patterns, and alternative routes.
  
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
  
• Clean driving record with a strong focus on safety.
  
• Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
  
• Physically fit and able to handle loading and unloading where required.
