Our client is seeking to hire a Driver who will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of furniture and clothing items to clients and vendors, while ensuring timely deliveries and proper handling of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods.
- Load and unload items in a manner that prevents damage.
- Ensure products are delivered on time and in excellent condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on the vehicle.
- Follow all traffic and safety regulations.
- Assist with warehouse duties when not on the road.
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to meet schedules.
- Verify delivery orders and ensure all items match documentation before departure.
- Obtain customer signatures and confirmations upon successful delivery.
- Secure items properly using straps, blankets, and protective materials during transport.
- Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding delays, vehicle issues, or delivery challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving delivery trucks or vans.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proven track record of safe driving with no major traffic violations.
- Physical fitness and stamina for loading/unloading activities.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and ability to identify mechanical issues.
- Customer service orientation with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Honest, reliable, and trustworthy with company property and goods.
- Ability to read and understand delivery schedules and documentation.
- Problem-solving skills to handle delivery challenges independently.
- Good time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
