Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Electrical Engineer who is professionally registered with the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK) as a Professional Engineer (PE). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading electrical design projects, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Note: Graduate Engineers or those not professionally registered with EBK will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for projects in [e.g., buildings, infrastructure, industrial facilities].
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Review and approve electrical designs to ensure compliance with Kenyan standards, international codes, and client requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, civil, and architectural professionals.
- Conduct site inspections and supervise installation works to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Prepare technical reports, tender documents, and project documentation.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the Engineering Board of Kenya (EBK).
- Valid annual practicing license from EBK.
- Minimum of [5–8+] years of relevant experience in electrical design.
- Proven experience in [specify sector: building services, power systems, renewable energy, etc.].
- Strong knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux, or similar).
- Thorough understanding of Kenyan and international electrical standards and codes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage teams.
