Operations
and security
- · Day-to-day farm operations. Working with and regular monitoring of the labor force.
- · Security management; including regular patrolling and maintenance of electric fences.
- · Accounting for farm tools and equipment.
- · Maintenance of roads, borehole, buildings, dam and structures.
- · Maintenance and general mechanics of agricultural equipment such as tractors, mowers and ploughs, generators, pumps, chainsaws.
- · Forestry management including cypress and blue gum plantations for timber.
- · Fire management during dry weather
Dairy and Beef
- · Veterinary care and disease prevention including managing a spray race for livestock
- · Livestock water, salt and grazing management.
- · Managing cattle spray chemicals and herbicides.
- · Monitoring birth rate, pregnancies, and bulls.
- · Ear marking, Dehorning, castrating, weaning and admin for new calves born.
- · Weighing beef cattle for sale.
- · Obtaining movement permits and contracting transport services.
Administration
- · KPLC payments and water meter readings, bill payments and water permits.
- · NHIF, NSSF wages calculations
- · Workdays and overtime admin of staff.
- · Management of the on-site accounts (supporting the company accountant)
