Field Service Engineer (Electronics & Mechatronics)
Job summary
Our client is a fast-growing medical aesthetics company supplying advanced aesthetic equipment to clinics across Kenya and East Africa. Their portfolio includes laser systems, RF microneedling, HIFU, body sculpting, skin analysis devices do, and other advanced aesthetic technologies. As they continue to expand, they are looking for a motivated and technically minded Field Service Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, working with advanced technology, and travelling to customer sites. No previous experience with aesthetic equipment is required the client will provide comprehensive product training, including overseas factory training with their international manufacturing partners.
Job descriptions & requirements
Key Responsibilities
∙ Install and commission aesthetic medical equipment at customer clinics.
∙ Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
∙ Diagnose and repair electrical, electronic and mechanical faults.
∙ Troubleshoot equipment both on-site and remotely.
∙ Test, calibrate and verify equipment performance following repairs.
∙ Maintain detailed service reports and maintenance records.
∙ Provide technical support and basic operational training to customers.
∙ Manage spare parts inventory and recommend replacement parts when required.
∙ Travel throughout Kenya and, where required, other East African countries to support customers.
Qualifications
∙ Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in:
i. Mechatronics Engineering
ii. Electrical & Electronic Engineering
iii. Electronic Engineering
iv. Biomedical Engineering
v. Or a closely related engineering discipline
∙ Minimum 2 years’ experience in equipment maintenance, technical support, field service or industrial machinery.
∙ Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.
∙ Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
∙ Experience using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and basic electronic test equipment.
∙ Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
∙ Strong communication and customer service skills.
∙ Willingness to travel frequently.
∙ Valid Kenyan driving licence (or willingness to obtain one).
