Position Summary

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, planning and reporting to ensure sound financial management and informed decision-making. The role will provide financial guidance to management, oversee budgeting and cash-flow management, ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, strengthen internal controls, and support the overall financial performance and growth of the business.

 Key Responsibilities

2. Ensure that suppliers invoices and petty cash vouchers are accurately processed as and when they fall due. 
   
3. Ensure financial accounting, journal entry, fixed assets bookings, recording receipts and processing payments are done accurately and on time.
   
4. Reconcile bank accounts daily and resolve any outstanding items.
   
5. Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and resolve outstanding items.
   
6. Maintain a cash-flow report on weekly basis for purpose of planning and payment of suppliers. 
   
7. Maintain updated Fixed Asset register. 
   
8. Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.
   
9. Process reimbursements.
   
10. Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
    
11. Oversee the company's financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
    
12. Periodical customer and supplier account reconciliations.
    
13. Debtors Review on monthly basis and follow up on outstanding debts. 
    
14. Prepare and present accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports.
    
15. Ensure adequate internal controls and compliance with legislative, regulatory and statutory requirements; Value Added Tax (VAT), Pay As You Earn (PAYE), National Social Security Fund (NSSF), With Holding Tax (WHT) among others.
    
16. Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
    
17. Prepare audit schedules for internal and external audits.
    
18. Ensuring improvement of the business through Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), compliance with company policy and approvals framework. Monitor cash flow, working capital, revenue and expenditure.
    
19. Maintain digital and physical financial records and an organized filing system on a monthly basis
    

Qualifications

1. 
   
2. Bachelors or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
   
3. CPA-K, ACCA certification preferred.
   

Experience.

1. 
   
2. 5 years’ experience as financial controller in a manufacturing company, building and construction.
   
3. Proficiency in an ERP system (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Sage) and advanced Excel
   
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
   
5. Solid knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes  
   
6. Financial Reporting skills

10. Commercial and operational awareness
    
11. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
