Hardware Store Supervisor

About the Role

We are looking for a mature, highly responsible, and physically fit Hardware Store Supervisor to oversee the loading and offloading of goods and ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the store. The successful candidate will supervise loaders, verify incoming and outgoing goods, conduct inventory checks, support sales activities, and ensure that all goods are properly accounted for and handled with care.

This role requires someone with high integrity, strong leadership and people-management skills, attention to detail, and the flexibility to take on multiple responsibilities within the hardware business.

Key Responsibilities

· Supervise and coordinate loaders during the loading and offloading of vehicles.

· Verify quantities and condition of goods received before they are moved into the store.

· Ensure goods are handled safely and are not damaged during loading, offloading, or storage.

· Monitor all movement of goods and ensure no items are lost, misplaced, or unaccounted for.

· Conduct regular stock and inventory checks and report any discrepancies immediately.

· Accurately count, record, and reconcile incoming and outgoing stock.

· Maintain proper organization of goods within the store and storage areas.

· Assist customers and support the sales team when required.

· Participate in selling hardware products and provide good customer service.

· Supervise, guide, and manage loaders and other support staff.

· Ensure tasks are completed efficiently and within set timelines.

· Maintain clear communication with management, drivers, suppliers, customers, and other staff.

· Perform other duties within the hardware/store operations as assigned by management.

Requirements & Qualifications

· Minimum Certificate qualification; additional training in business, sales, stores, logistics, or a related field is an advantage.

· Previous experience in a hardware store, warehouse, stores, loading/offloading, sales, or inventory management is highly preferred.

· Mature, responsible, and dependable, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

· High level of integrity and accountability, particularly when handling stock and cash.

· Physically fit and capable of lifting and handling heavy hardware materials.

· Strong numerical and counting skills with excellent attention to detail.

· Good sales and customer service skills.

· Strong leadership and people-management abilities.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Good time-management and organizational skills.

· Flexible and willing to take on different responsibilities beyond supervision.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced hardware environment.

The position is based in Narumoru. Candidates who are currently based in Narumoru and the surrounding areas are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those with relevant hardware, stores, inventory, loading/offloading, or sales experience.
