St Andrew’s School, Turi is highly respected in Kenya and regarded as one of the leading international schools in East Africa. Numbering pupils, it comprises two semi-autonomous schools: a Preparatory School of circa pupils between the ages of 3 and 13 and a Senior School of circa pupils between the ages of 13 and 18. It is fully coeducational and the great majority are boarders. The School has an overtly Christian foundation and sees its overall aim as encouraging young men and women to ‘live and lead with integrity’.
The Role
The Senior School Head of Business Studies, reporting to the Head of Social Sciences, is a vital member of the Academic Team. A love of Business and a keen interest in teaching practical skills are key requirements.
The ideal candidate will join a thriving and well experienced department. They will be expected to teach across Year 9 to Year 13. She/he must offer Business Studies as their main subject. The ability to teach a second subject would be an added advantage. Experience of following the Cambridge specifications for IGCSE and A level courses would also be advantageous.
As a full boarding school, St Andrew’s is committed to providing a vibrant co-curricular and boarding program to which all staff contribute. The successful candidate will be an academic tutor and attached to a specific boarding house for duties.
The successful candidate would commence employment on 1 September .
